As I look over my previous blog posts, I am highly satisfied with their level of quality and completeness. I am also intrigued by how different and unique each blog post is. Each blog post has its own purpose and audience.
My first blog post allowed me to practice the independent inquiry and curiosity key concept. I searched through the class syllabus and developed thorough questions about the class and its requirements. Not only am I proud of the questions I produced, but I am happy to be able to say I got all of the questions I asked answered. My reading territories provided a way to express myself through the books and readings I have read. I also really enjoyed being able to go look at others blogs posts to get to know my classmates. My second blog post used two key concepts. It used independent inquiry and curiosity while also using the critical reading concept. It was in this blog post that I scanned and read through our text to get an idea of how I was going to be able to use it to my advantage. In this particular blog post I discussed a passage of the textbook I read that compared the research process to the scientific method. When reflecting on this passage I wrote, “This passage really connected with me because I am a pre-nursing major and the scientific method is a process I encounter on a regular basis.” This metaphor is something that has really stuck with me as I completed my inquiry project. My third blog post was extremely helpful in deciding my research topic. When completing this assignment, I instantly realized that I wanted to research something in the medical field. It is very interesting to look back on my “Top Pick” paragraph from this blog post and realize that I was able to make a very effective Multi-Genre Project with this specific topic. I am also fascinated by how much I have learned. For example, in my “Top Pick” paragraph I wrote, “I also know that telemedicine is on a constant rise, however, I was not sure exactly why.” I now could name a whole list of reasons as to why telemedicine is beneficial and why it is constantly gaining popularity. When looking at my fourth blog post I notice my use of the critical reflection key concept. In this blog post I was able to reflect on my peer and teacher feedback from my exploratory essay. I am very thankful I had helpful peer editors to help make my paper stronger. Blog post five was the most challenging blog post I completed all semester. Not only did it take a lot of time, but it took lots of critical thinking and in my opinion, some getting out of my comfort zone. This assignment forced me to extend my thinking beyond what I was used to. I was no longer allowed to click on the first website or source I found, I had to dig into my research and find sources that required more time and thought. Blog post number six was extremely helpful in turning my plans for my Multi-Genre Project into reality. The outline I created was a resource I was able to constantly refer back to when creating my genres and essay.
Therefore, each of my blog posts fulfilled a purpose and really helped complete background and/or future work necessary for each of the assignments.
